For the production we need fondant in brown, white, red and
black color, knife, brush with a little water, a wooden peg and wider and
narrower straw, which are constants in my tutorials.
First, we start with the body. Roll the brown fondant ball
in form similar to Kinder egg and flatten lower part, so the body/egg will
stand.
Form two back legs by rolling narrow barrels of fondant.
Press with the finger on one part of
fondant to flatten it (almost a circle), on the other part just flattened it to
remain narrow, as show in picture.
With the foot placed in the standing position, with a sharp
part of the wooden stick press on the front part, to make the two notches.
Moisten the side of
the body and apply the legs to the body by pressing the pieces of
fondant together. Use enough force to get the pieces to stick, but not so much
that you misshape the pieces.

Form the dog's head. The shape you are trying to achieve
will vary dramatically depending on the breed you are depicting. By now, you
have been working with the fondant long enough that you should have a feel for
how to manipulate it.
With the help of straws and white and black fondant produce
eyes (I've been describing throughout the previous tutorials). Roll little
black fondant into a ball to make the nose. Roll red fondant into a small ball and flatten it.
Press with wooden stick in the middle to produce tongue.
With a wooden stick make the hole in front part of the head
where we will insert the tongue.
Slightly moisten the hole and insert the tongue. On the upper
part of the head, moisten the place where the nose and eyes will be, and then
with a gentle pressure place them on head to stick.
With a slight pressure flatten upper part of the body,
moisten it and put dogs head on the place. Leave it for some time that both parts
stick together.
At this time we do the ears. From the brown fondant make two small balls, which are well
flattened. The upper quarter fold inwards.
Lightly moisten the sides of the dog head, and with gentle pressure
stick the ears to a head.
From the brown fondant do a shorter thicker roll, on one
part slightly thinner, on the other part flattened at the end, which represents
tail.
Moisten the location on the dogs back, and with gently
pressure stick the tail to the body.
The dog figurine is finnished.
Put figurine to dry overnight in a cool and dry place (but not
the refrigerator).
This is the easiest way of doing simple dog fondant cake topper.
